Update for those that care about poker not to be confused with Pokemon
Yesterday was an interesting one. I had a much tougher table draw then my first day from last year. While there were no "Phil Helmuths or Iveys" at my table everyone was very solid but one. He busted out fairly quickly despite the fact that he proclaimed he was " very good at this game".

I was fortunate to flop a set early in a multi way pot and get paid on the river and was up to 75k I'm the first level. Then I proceeded to play poker the way Jake Heaps went after that fumble vs Utah. I made 2 massive mistakes in 2 different hands. One was a straight bluff the other was a semi bluff since I had an open ender.

I know the average Byu fan isn't big on poker so I don't know how interesting this will be but I'll replay this hand for you.
With the blinds at 200/400 the most aggressive player and chip leader of our table made a standard raise to 1100 or 2.1x. I called on the button with 67clubs. We saw a flop of 832. He led out half pot of 1200. Even though I had air (nothing ) I felt there was a high probability he had nothing too and 3 bet him to 3,100. He called which says he is now representing an over pair.
The turn was probably the best possible card in the deck for me a 5 giving me an open ended straight draw, or 8 outs to make the nuts. He checked and now I felt I could rep 2 pair, or set and fired 5k. He check raised me to 20k. This line made no sense to me at all. Now he is representing a set to me which is really unlikely or just getting stubborn with an overpair. The problem is 2 fold. I get almost the right odds to call 15 especially with implied odds of what he has left will most likely go in on the river. But the 15 k raise is so much in relation to my stack and the blinds. I got stubborn and called.

The river was a 7 giving me just a pair of 7s and he put me all in. I obviously folded but gave away a large portion of my stack. It was a big mistake. I should've checked the turn for pot control and taken a free card and I should not have called his check raise. That sent me all the way down to 20k.

On the break I told my friend I was playing like crap and to slap me in the face which he obliged. It helped. I tightened down and worked my way all the way back to 82.1k. I had today off but tomorrow I start at 11. Since I'm a virtual unknown in the poker world they probably won't do many updates on me until I get to the money which would be in 2 more days. So I'll give CB brief updates tomorrow. Wsop.com does have some updates. The blinds will start at 300/600 so I have 150 big blinds to work with which is quite a lot.

Tomorrow I need to remember to try to only play pots in position!

If you want to follow me on snapchat my handle is Curtisjamesbond. Thanks for all the CB love. I feel your good vibes. Day 2 here we come
