If all of the rumors are true and BYU gets into the Big XII, basketball is going
to be SOOOO much fun.

Over the past few years you could make the argument that the Big XII has surpassed the ACC as the best basketball conference in the entire country. Here is what we can look forward to:

*Kansas - We all know Kansas. One of if not the best program in the entire country
*Oklahoma - Not a bad club coming off a Final Four with the National Player of the year... will enjoy a few more battles with Lon.
*West Virginia - Bob Huggins has his team playing excellent ball after a 3 seed and a 5 seed the past two years.
*Texas - Not known for B-ball, but here is a look at some of their NBA players over the past decade: Durant, Aldridge, T. Thompson, Augustin, Bradley, Gibson, Turner, Pittman, Hamilton, Joseph, D.James... Not bad, they would definitely be one of the best teams in the NBA with their Alumni alone
*Iowa St - 3, 4, 3... those are the last 3 NCAA tournament seeds for the cyclones
*Baylor - Great program and I remember a couple of fun games with them a few years ago... their last five years- 3 seed, NIT Champs, 6 seed, 3 seed, 5 seed
*Texas Tech - Traditionally one of the worst teams in the Big 12, did I mention they were an 8-seed last year?
*Kansas St - They have been down a bit since Martin left a few years back and haven't made the tournament in the past 2 seasons. Still, there is history and capability there.
*OK State - Finished 9th in the conference last year and fired their coach (they had made the tournament the 3 years previous). Very solid basketball program with a couple of final fours in the past 21 years (and even 2 National Championships if you want to go back to '45 and '46)
*TCU - One of these schools doesn't belong in terms of basketball and it is TCU... in 4 years in the Big 12 they have won 8 conference games (8-64)

Playing these teams at home and on the road is going to be a challenge, but it will most definitely make our players better as well. It will be a blast seeing so much talent come to the Marriott Center.
