Then, make it so that with the G5, teams schedule 11 games/year (not 12). Those that have conference championship games will play them for the twelfth game. Then, in the 13th game (where the championship games currently reside), The 4 highest ranked conference champion of the AAC, MWC, CUSA, MAC, Sun Belt (yes, one will get left out) will play each other (based on position of ranking--> 1 vs 4; 2 vs 3. Higher rank=home team, responsible to provide the stadium, revenue is split 50/50). The 2 winners of all the G5 SuperChamp get into the playoff. Then everyone else in the conference is paired based on rankings and that's who they play on the last game of the season.
The 8th spot is reserved for Notre Dame (if Notre dame is in the top 8 rankings) or the top ranked team not currently included in the playoff.
Then, the first game of the 8-game playoff is based on committee rankings, with a guarantee of no G5 vs. G5.
