You realize the stats are exactly what point Taysom out as one of the worst QBs to play against Boise this year. Everyone except the option QB from UNM has better stats than he does. And even that QB had more total passing + running yards than Taysom.
And as long as you're cherry picking stats - take a look at Taysom's first half - possibly one of the worst first halves in recent memory - that's not consistency. Until the final garbage drive Taysom had THREE completions. He and Rypien were battling to see who would be able to throw more balls to BYU receivers. Rypien certainly had more yards and points.
So yeah - we're looking at the stats. USU had 100 more yards than Taysom did. If we're saying that having 100 less yards than the team from Ogden is now what we're OK with as playing "consistently well" - heaven help BYU football for the next 10 years....
