1). Logistically it makes no sense. He just played a game in China. No way he flew halfway around the globe to interview, then flew immediately back to China. If anything, he'd wait til offseason.
2). He's making a ton of money in China right now. He's only been there a few months...no way he's already burned out and is willing to give up that much money to for a low paying coaching assistant job. He hasn't even completed a season. And he'd have to give up PLAYING basketball, which is his passion. It would make way more sense for him to try out coaching once he can't play basketball at a high level anymore.
3). He's still in excellent playing shape. It would make no sense for him to give it all up while he's still healthy and talented enough to be making millions of dollars playing basketball. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that he wants to coach sometime, but it would make no sense to do it while he still has the ability to play basketball at a high level. Maybe once he's done playing it would make more sense.
