and despite the hype he was pretty mediocre in my opinion. He was tall and big with a big arm but he was very inaccurate and had no touch on his throws. The only instate school he might have started at is Utah who always has poor qb's and no ability to develop them. He wouldn't have ever started at BYU, USU, Weber, or even SUU, all of who actually develop decent qb's.
The one thing a qb must have naturally and just never can develop is accuracy and touch, which is part of being accurate. He didn't have those things and never will.
There is another HS qb instate right now who has those same problems, I won't say who it is but he reminds me of Bateman. Getting hype because of the measurables but lacks accuracy and touch.
