So, basically anything from the 40s to 1975. Paul Simon's "Peace Like a River"
from his 1971 "Paul Simon" s/t (also home to other classics, such as "Me and Julio" and "Mother and Child Reunion."

Am I doing my math right though? Because I can't call something from 1971 an "oldie." Oldies to me are songs from before the advent and commercialization of rock and roll. Like, Pre-Beatles, at least.

As a child of the 80s, whenever I think of "oldies," I think of the soundtrack to Stand by Me - that was my first exposure to oldies, generally.
