I think the backfire effect is more detrimental to our society than
the echo chamber phenomenon. People aren't simply refusing to listen to the other side. They are hearing them and digging in their heels deeper. It doesn't help that journalists and alarmists present opposing viewpoints in the form of shock videos and fake news. What a corrupt system.
