I think there is a high likelihood he can show enough potential on his 3 point shot to convince a team he can do it.
Guys like Trey lyles went 4 of 29 from 3 in college (12%) and shot 39% from 3 as a rookie.
He has made shots out to 18 feet. It's not much further than that in the corners. Good mechanics. Good work ethic. Should be able to do enough in workouts. There are a number of metrics nba teams use to project 3 point ability
-ft shooting
- shooting motion consistency
-balance
-hand placement
-work ethic
-rate of improvement
I don't think he's ever going to be a volume 3 point guy... But I think he could hit a 3 in the corner in the NBA fairly consistently.
