used a minimum of one year of eligibility on his WSU year and his first year at BYU no matter what we did. In theory, we could say we aren't treating either year like a redshirt year and make him leave after this year. Barring something unforeseen, I doubt that happens.
In the bowl game, he had a game he could play in because he had sat out two semesters. And either way he was going to have used a minimum of one year of eligibility.
