Reasons:
1 - I like Tanner. He doesn't have the receivers he did 2 years ago, but I believe he has a better arm than Taysom and will open up some play calls we weren't able to last year. Should help Ty better find his rhythm as a play caller.
2 - The defense was encouraging last year and wasn't crazy talented. I attribute that to good coaching from Tuiaki and Sitake. On paper this years roster should be more talented (all though still not all elite) with a bit more experience. If the coaching is the same, the defense should be a bit better. And that would equate to really really good.
But all that said, I won't throw in the towel if we run out to a 1-3 start and won't scream for a coaches head or be jumping on the bandwagon to run some player out of town. On the flip side, if we run out to 4-0 (won't happen, I know) I won't be screaming the we aren't number one in the polls. Tempered expectations combined with hopeful optimism are a way to be a good fan while rarely feeling chicken little syndrome. Even after reading CB.
