If you take your dog outside and your yard isn't fully fenced, keep it on a leash AT ALL TIMES.

If your dog is outside and is barking you have two choices:

1. take it inside
2. get a shock collar

Pick up it's crap, always, and even then don't let it crap on someone's lawn. The parkstrip is more polite, and that's city property anyway.

For the dog's sake, don't walk them with just a collar on. Buy a harness. Even dogs don't like being choked.

Keep their nails clipped and for many breeds, their fur shaved especially in the summer.

Make sure they get plenty of water.

Dogs are work. Don't leave town without them.
