We put him in a dog run in the back yard when we leave. He sleeps inside. He just gets into stuff when we aren't looking
Which happens when you also have 3 little kids to keep an eye on.
The crappy thing about not being able to leave him unsupervised is that the primary reason we got him was as a deterrent to break-ins since I work so many nights.
