they do more harm than good. And when I say they don't have to prove anything, I'm really referring to the general lack of knowledge around optimizing the human body.
And your example also highlights why that model is not in our best interest. It's only worth it if they're profitable. Curing people reduces profits. Instead of making drugs that manage symptoms, why don't we try to understand why our bodies are sick and fix that? Oh right, there's no money in that. No wonder it's not popular.
Also, R & D costs have nothing to do with price, only profits.
