The medical world has cost me 10s of thousands of dollars, but also saved my life many times. There was a time that I could no longer use the FDA approved meds due to antibodies developing, and it caused my body to break down and stop to become paralyzed. I ate and drank through a tube for the next 4 1/2 years till the next med was approved, and I could ultimately treat the disease and not just the symptoms.
As for the price tag, $10,000 a dose is crazy, but it is what it is. They are chemo class meds, and there used to be zero competition. Now, after seeing what they can charge, several pharmaceutical companies have put millions into Crohn's research, and while it is a price gouge of sorts, there is the benefit of new knowledge and major advancements in the past decade. I never thought I would ever see a Crohn's commercial, but now I see daily. Due to the competition, some of the med options are going down in price, but not until they have earned their testing money back.

For every med approved, several never make it out of trial. I have tried the natural/holistic course, eastern med, and supplement; but all fail in comparisson to western med technology. That being said, all have their benefits, and I believe a combination of all and balance attack is the proper course.
