I don't like the idea. We've all seen Ute teams get so sky high to
beat BYU that they lose games right before or after that they have no business losing.

What we're dealing with is a perception problem much more than a reality problem. And it's because of softball???? How many softball games have you watched in the last year? Five years? Did you only watch because Utah was the opponent?

Prior to this weekend, softball had something like an 80% win percentage over Utah over the last decade (I don't remember the exact record I read).

Baseball hasn't lost the season series to Utah in over 20 years.

Utah has won the last two basketball games. But Dave Rose teams have a big lead in the head to head against Utah.

It's only football where the Utes have a solid streak of wins. And last year's game came down to two yards in the last minute. All but one of Utah's wins over the current streak were seven points or less and a few came down to the last play. It isn't like we have no hope of beating them.

Oh, I guess I should say they have a pretty good streak in gymnastics too. I can live with that.

But overall, there isn't any rational reason for the angst.
