The Jake Heaps story from someone who was right in the middle of it.
I find it interesting you can't let the hate go , Jake Heaps is a stand up guy who never said a bad thing about BYU. And loves this University to this day.

What is sad is the #1 QB in America out of high school was Jake Heaps , he could have gone to any University in the country and he chose BYU and somehow that means nothing to you.

Did you know Kyle Van Noy was going to transfer after his problems and Jake talked him out of it ? He called Kyle and asked him to move to Seattle and Kyle lived with the Heaps family for the Summer Kyle is one of Steve Heaps good friends they talk regularly.

Did you know when Jake Committed to BYU his dads Construction Business had 3 housing projects cancel all because Jake did not choose Washington , it financially devastated the family ? His mom Kelly couldn't even go to the grocery store without somebody saying something disgusting to her so Steve had her move to Provo.

it was devistateing financialy but also strained there marriage.

You think it was Jake getting married and not spending time with his team mates. When all along he was Jake trying to save his parents marriage, they were separated his dad Steve trying to save his Business in Seattle. With his mom Kelly living in Provo.

Now try to juggle all of that at the same time the football program was turned over to a offensive coordinator that had no experience and had no idea what he was doing. Brandon Doman ended up leaving the program and never return to football why was that ?
I love Brandon but he knew he was in over his head and as an option QB coach The writing was on the wall for Jake so he left.

1. Our offensive line was poor at best , not good for a pocket QB

2. Robert Anai left the program , if he would have stayed thing would have been much different.

3. Brandon Doman had zero experience at the division #1 level and it showed.

After Steve lost his Business in Seattle he moved to Provo to try to work this marriage out. Things didn't go well and he called me one night freezing living in his black Chevy suburban and asked if I could help him , I said of course he moved in with our family for eight months until he got back on his feet and got a job making $10 an hour.

To this day I stay in touch with Jake and Brooke , and I talk to Jakes Dad Steve just about every week , Steve and Kelly are now Divorced both of them told me they probably would have still been married if Jake would have gone to Washington. There Business would have flourished and finances are the number one reason for divorce , who knows for sure what would have happened but I personally think they would still be together.

Sometimes in life you don't know what is going on behind the scenes and that is why it's better to not judge , you never know how bad things are until you have lived in there shoes but that's what happened. Now if you don't believe me broadtail me we will go out to lunch with Dick Harmon and you can here it from him.

The Good news for Steve is he is back on his feet running a large Construction company geting ready to buy a new home.
Steve has remarried and is very happy.

Jake and Brooke have a new healthy baby boy and are doing Great if things don't work out with the Seahawks Jake has an offer in the Canadian football league. Jake's sister Britney also has a new boy she graduated from dental hygiene school and is doing great.

Jakes mom Kelly is back on her feet and one of the top Home interior designers in the state of Utah.

I Love the Heaps Family all of them Steve , Kelly , Jake and Brittany they are a story of Hardship , Heartbreak , and most important Joy , and are making a ferocious comeback all of them.
