1. don't get into trouble off the tee...park the ego.

i stay away from water, OB and hazards. if i can't be safe using driver, i drop down to whatever club i need to keep it out of trouble.

i can recover from a bogey...doubles are death.

2. don't take 2 shots to do what 1 shot should accomplish.

this is especially true on short side chips or getting out of trouble or a bunker. i'll go long rather than try and hit the perfect shot and perhaps come up a bit short and not reach the green.

bonus: 3 putts are evil.
