My two observations.......while you are doing it, you realize you have a problem when you think dates taste like candy.....After you are done it makes good European Dark chocolate taste bad.

Its way too extreme, its hard to do, and if I can't enjoy chocolate, even in small amounts, it is not worth doing. Life is too short to not enjoy some things.
