I had my hours cut back at work so my employer (a school district) wouldn't have to provide insurance. Meanwhile, my wife's insurance plan for the family went up from $250 per month to over $700 per month in two years, and the plan we liked was discontinued.
So, to sum up, we liked our plan, but couldn't keep it, and the $2,500 in savings ended up costing us about $10,000 per year when you factor in my hours being cut.
