He did improve as the season went on and showed a strong desire to play D and put in a lot of effort.
IMO he may be a year away from being a good defender but I have always believed that guys who have the effort are typically very good defenders. Having him play the 4 gives BYU some significant advantages on defense in PNR defense. He can essentially switch 1-4 and even yoeli can switch on to a wing player or guard for a late clock situation.
He may get abused in the paint and on the glass unless he adds some strength, tho.
