Yesterday we participated in the Pocatello ID drop. We live in Blackfoot but I work in Pocatello so I told my wife I might look for it when posted. She told my five year old about it and he wanted to go look for it in case they made the drop before daddy got off work. So they left at 10 AM to arrive at Pocatello only to be then get the update drop would be at 4 to 730. So my dear wife entertained him and my three year old til I got off work at 345. We waited and then at 730 an update drop would be at 830. Well I thought it would be dropped in old Town Pocatello so we waited there. After watching teenage groups of kids passing loudly and smoking my wife told me she didn't think it would be there. So I asked my 5 yr old where he thought it would be. He told me Ross Park by the rocks. So we speed over there just before 830. At 840 or so the post the picture. Ross Park band shelter! He was Right! We turned around and we were there in a minute or so. I throw him out the car, run up yelling Tuck you did you're going to win! He reaches for the helmet only to be told you're first but we are doing a competition for the first five. The rep tells me it's a punting competition. I was feeling ok til I saw the fourth person arrive. I knew him vaguely but knew he punted in high school. I knew this old lineman/pitcher was in trouble. Sure enough trying to kick that ball to the moon I shanked it and got way under it. Lost fair and square. Luckily my boy took it well and told him if we do it next year be more specific. Don't pray and hope to find it first but pray and hope to actually get the helmet. . But my two cents. We had no idea where it was just guessed right.
