The TEs last year were largely unused (in the passing game at least. The run game was a different story) because they weren't very good receivers. While those TEs may have improved some, it doesn't matter much since BYU just gained 2 very capable receiving TEs during the offseason.
#1 Moroni Laulu-Pututau. Moroni was one of the 5 main receivers in BYU's rotation. While his 277 yards and 2 TD aren't exactly overwhelming, I expect him to get a lot more yardage going up against the slower defenders likely to cover him from his new TE position.
#2 Matt Bushman. Admittedly, this is based almost entirely off the spring game, but he Certainly looked like he had the potential to be great. If nothing else he certainly did not look like he would be below average. Coincidentially, that is the definition of a tier 2 position group. "Potential to be great, but probably won't be worse than average".
