Staley had one great year and according to Brady Poppinga, he under achieved based on his physical tools. I'm not sure about him under achieving because most of that was based on injuries and he gave up his body for BYU football. I saw the guy at LES the day he was elected into the BYU HOF and he could barely walk down the stairs so I don't think it's fair to say he didn't give his all to help his team win.
That said, the two don't really compare very well.
