Utah and Boise were frustrating games
The Utah game was a near draw in almost every category except turnovers. Out of the 6 turnovers, we forced 2 of them in Utah territory and got 2 FGs out of them. Should we have gotten more? Yes. But Utah had 3 turnovers of ours, and couldn't do anything with them--except the first play of the game which ended up being the difference in the ball game. That game was a defensive battle. Our offense seemed pedestrian in that game. In fairness, Utah had a very very good defense.

The BSU game we got our tail kicked. The offense got 3 turnovers in BSU territory and only managed one field goal. That was a bad game for us against a team that seemed much better than us. Warner's and Lake's interceptions were the only things that kept us in that game.

But being fair to the offense, we had some games where they either kept us in the game, or ended up winning the game for us. Toledo and West Virginia come to mind.

I just felt it was overly harsh to say that Detmer had not successfully coordinated an offense at the college level--especially when comparing him to Taylor who has had one good year at Eastern Washington.
