If we were to join the AAC with Boise, the conference's new TV deal would be significantly more lucrative than it is now.

Also, there would be NCAA tournament money that we don't get now, CFP payouts that we don't get now, and of course that conference would be almost guaranteed to produce the G5 autobid team every year, so we'd have that money too.

Also, those games in October and November where 5-8k seats go unsold in LES now would probably look more appealing, and the Marriott Center attendance would almost certainly go up in the AAC.

Also, if playing in the NY6 is meaningless, then how is playing equivalent games in September any less so?

I don't necessarily hate Independence, it's just become almost unbearably predictable: get pummeled in September, lose a bunch of good players to injury, figure things out in time to rattle off 6-7 wins against bad teams in front of comatose crowds in LES, go to mediocre bowl game, celebrate how "relevant" we are and how at least we aren't a G5, rinse and repeat.

Finally, the last thing no one talks about: we need friends. Badly. Right now we have no friends because we are going it alone in independence. Since we are never getting into a P5 conference let's make the best of the situation and start building something in the AAC that merits greater inclusion in the CFP when it gets redone in 8 years.
