The real answer is that season ticket prices are too high and many people find
the experience watching from home to be superior (replays, couch, pause, etc) Combine that with the last several seasons of late kickoffs (especially late in the season) and it's obvious why season ticket sales have declined.

It's a catch-22. We need the TV revenue so that means late kickoff times, but we also need to pay for stadium upgrades, so that means higher ticket prices.
