I say this as someone who has some concerns about both, philosophically. I don't
support government intervention and heavy regulation for the most part, but certain areas like utilities and de facto utilities are exceptions. (If the government can ensure free markets in utilities like Texas does with power--I find that preferable)

Climate change is unique in that the popular narrative isn't necessarily consistent with what the consensus of scientists even say. Yet the political windfall from sowing hype is so great that there's no incentive to appropriately hedge. If the scientists think the catastrophic hurricane impact is decades out, it's irresponsible to suggest this hurricane season is the direct result of climate change, but it keeps happening. We are in a position where any weather event will get blamed on climate change. That's not productive.
