jdub I was impressed with your post. That's why I read all the way to the bottom of that really long post! I think it's a great resource. I'll probably even use it when I (reluctantly) go camping.
I did "laugh out loud" at the post because for me a "vacation" is meant to be relaxing, and that post sounded like a whole lot of work, and a whole lot of money. And I do think if one's goal is to eat well and sleep well on a trip (as you mentioned it should be), then there are much better ways to achieve that goal than by going camping. But I wasn't mocking the post at all. We just have different vacation habits.
I'm also lucky enough to have lots of friends with cabins, so I'm quite sure I spend less money to stay in cabins than you spent getting all your camping gear purchased, but I realize I'm very, very lucky to be in that situation and we're both easily in the luckiest 1% of humanity to be able to spend so much time in beautiful places, regardless of whether we do it in a tent, a trailer, or a acabing.
