I know consumers will lose the war with healthcare, but it’s nice to win a
Battle once in a while.

My wife recently went in for some exams to determine if there was any reason why she’s had trouble getting pregnant the last couple years - we have 2 kids. It was just the standard stuff like ultrasounds, blood tests, etc.

I get the bill for the ultrasound from the hospital and it’s $1,000. I called select health to find out what the deal is, and they said because the ultrasound code was billed as fertility, it wasn’t covered. So I called the OBGYN to see if they would reprocess it under a different code. They agreed.

We got the updated EOB today and our responsibility was ......
$0.
