Donations Through Ward Mission Fund?

My wife and I may be going on a mission in a few years. I'm curious if there is any issue with making donations to a Ward mission fund and then having a monthly stipend sent to you. Wouldn't that enable all mission related expenses to be tax deductible?

No. The meals are not deductible. Only the meals that they provide for others
