In the future, everyone will have his own channel. The ability to broadcast and monetize your own games will be ubiquitous. At that point, each school will eventually get paid what they are worth. More rivalries will be killed off or change. BYU is doing exactly what it should be doing right now (other than winning) -- which is to build its individual brand through ESPN exposure, national scheduling and building BYUtv. This is the best way to prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
