This happens to me as well. We travel a fair amount with our entire family
and hear backhanded compliments about it from people sometimes.
It's really nobody's business what I spend my money on, but we do a lot of research to see and do a lot of things as cheaply as possible. For example we go to San Diego yearly for a few days and typically tent camp and the beach is essentially free.
