It's fine to be buddy-buddy, but when you've done all of the adjusting that you can do and it's STILL not working? It's time to get mad. Make your players accountable. A coach needs to be able to get pissed off when his team doesn't put forth the effort needed to win a game.
Sure, is it a little late? Yeah. But I think a lot of us didn't think Ty had it in him to be the "bad guy". Him doing this shows me that he is indeed invested in this team and that he is focused on fixing what's been going on instead of just being all coy and acting like "well, we suck but these players are like my own children. So go out and just have fun guys"!
