Austin Kafentzis: Has not thrown a pass, so he does not have a QB rating. 10 attempts for 36 yards, with one fumble. This puts him fifth in yards per rush among running backs, ahead of Dye, El-Bakri and Burt. He is also fifth on the team in rushing yards. I don't believe he has pitched the ball as a wildcat. Except for Miss St., has consistently picked up yards.
Hoge: Best QB play so far. 54.7 vs Wisconsin, 66.2 vs. Utah St. He can run, and has picked up 28 yards on the ground for 3.1 yards/carry. Only QB that has been above average. Losing him was way, way worse than losing Tanner. We beat ECU if we have a QBR of 50 instead of 13.
Detmer: One game vs Utah St., 2.9 Adjusted QBR. For reference, ECU's backup had a QB rating of 89.3 against us, and Detmer had much more time to get in a groove, as well as a halftime to adjust. Bad QB play is what sunk us vs. Utah St.
Critch: The one remaining hope. His stats in limited action: 2.8 vs Boise St, 5.9 vs Miss St. Not sure these are really anything to trust since they have come on the final possesion in garbage time. Certainly not a good indication, but at least he has shown improvement. Could he show much more improvement with a chance to string passes together? We certainly hope so, but hope seems to have abandoned BYU this season.
