If student loans came from banks, credit unions, and private entities, then many college studnets wouldn't be able to get a loan.  Banks would know that someone majoring in political correctness theory or Canadian studies wouldn't likely be able to pay the money back, and wouldn't get the loan.

We'd have much fewer worthless majors, much less student debt, and more workers in fields that can further our society.
