Get him a hot wife and a small farm in Kansas and have him raise a family.
For me, a character's death coinciding with a contract negotiation or termination is the easy lazy way out.
Same with Star Trek, due to Anton Yelchin's tragic accident his character will probably be "dead" too. It would be more realistic if he was simply "transferred" to another ship...crews don't stay together forever.
And not every super hero needs to "die".
And if he's dead, it will be like countless other comics: he'll want to get back into the MCU again as a mentor for "the next generation", so they'll make a movie where they'll go back in time and "bring him back" or something.
No, the "creative" choice in today's age is have his character develop, get married, retire, and raise a family.
Easy to kill off characters; difficult to write a future.
