PAC 12 = parity and suffers from East Coast bias

There hasn't really been an elite team recently. Because of this, most of the conference is good enough to beat a top team occasionally. The conference also suffers from the 9-game schedule and the fact that the California schools play each other annually - especially Stanford and USC. In the B1G, SEC, and ACC, the top teams from each division don't always meet during the regular season, which helps with nice and shiny win-loss records. See Wisconsin v. Ohio St. and Clemson v. Miami.

The East Coast bias isn't really an intentional bias - it's the fact that a good chunk of quality PAC matchups occur when most of the East Coast has turned off their TVs.

The remedy is expansion into the Central timezone, but given the PAC 12 elitism, the only suitable option appears to be Texas plus friends. Not sure that is realistic at this point. Another remedy would be the PAC-B1G scheduling affiliation that never happened.
