I disagree. He would have been great. Nba teams didn’t even defend beyond the
Arc during the 80’s and 90’s. That’s why guys like Steve Kerr were able to jack up threes all day. Now imagine replacing Kerr with Durant. No one could guard him.
And the rule changes have made it harder, not easier to drive to the hoop. Zone defenses weren’t even allowed back then. Zone defense has had a much bigger effect on driving to the hoop than what contact is allowed.
