DIYers don't sub. They want to fix their problem and move on. If it's a common project (say wiring a lightbulb or a specific cars water-pump) it make get 100k+ views over time. But nobody will sub.
My channel is geared to 4wd adventurers. The older ones don't sub. They'll watch though.
Millennials sub. They grew up with it. So what YouTube will end up with is a bunch of "gaming channels" and "techie review" shows, but the varied content, save a few YouTube stars get hosed, even if they had the views and watch hours.
Simply because most 30+ year olds aren't the subscribing type.
