.30-06, plain Jane I know. You’re a gun nut so I’ll elaborate.
Dad gave me a Winchester 70 in .30-06 when I was 14. Quintessential hunting rifle for the West, and exactly what he grew up using too.
I’ve since monkeyed with it a bit. I had Elk Meadows Performance put a new Shilen barrel on it, then bed the barreled action in a Bell and Carlson stock.
I have a Luepold VX-3 mounted in Talley rings. My favorite round is the 180 grain Nosler Partition.
