It's silly to ascribe malice or collusion; and generally inaccurate to blame the outcome of an individual game on the refs.
It's also silly, sometimes obstinately so, to ignore the reality that WCC refs are routinely bad at their job. Watch a handful of games in different leagues whose outcome you really don't care about. On average, you'll see more questionable calls in the WCC game. And over the course of the game/season, the poor officiating impacts the style of play.
And I've heard all about the WCC using the same pool of referees that other conferences use. I simply conclude that the WCC pays less per game and the better refs always go first to the higher paying conference. The WCC pays subpar and the refs that end up at WCC games perform at a subpar level. We get what we pay for.
