I am unfortunately in this boat
Last year we were horrible, terrible, worst team in 50 years. Kalani was responsible for it. He was the Head Coach.

The offense struggled under Detmer. It was a problem. But to say it was the only problem is ignoring huge facts.

1. The defense was not good. They couldn't turn the ball over and forced very few punts against average offenses or better. If you were a QB you were itching to play against BYU.

2. The team was divided. Ask any member of the team and the locker room was not only divided but some players didn't bother pretending to keep some very simple rules.

What did Kalani do to help these situations during the course of the season?

Well we know he continued to throw the offense under the bus.

The defense ran vanilla scheme after vanilla scheme with Kalani at the head.

The team's culture became more and more divided with less accountability as time went on. I would love to see someone ask Kalani when he found out about Ula's arrest. If you see your head coach not value accountability I wonder what you would think as a player?

Now in the off-season Kalani said he knows EXACTLY what needs to happen to fix these problems. My questions is this: Why didn't he use any of these methods during the course of the season?

I will cheer for Kalani because he is at BYU. I have a hard time believing he has what it takes to turn this program around. I hope I am wrong.
