It is more like a single year deal that the Mavs can extend
It is similar to what the Jazz signed with Royce O'Neale. It is good for the team, because each year they have the option to end the contract if they want to, or keep the player at a low cost if they are proving to be worth it. Still great for KC, but three-year deal is a bit misleading.
