This is the most interesting part to me, because culture is about all KS did as
HC on this team:

“And it’s certainly one way to be,” said Lamb. “But the most important thing for me is that a head coach needs to operate within their own personality. Kalani’s personality is to allow these guys to play with their passion a little bit more and have the freedom to make decisions, whether right or wrong, and to learn from the natural consequences that happen.”
...

Did the rank and file kind of take advantage of a trust and personality type in 2017, one that led to a seven-game losing streak?

“Absolutely,” said Lamb. “Not that we as a coaching staff didn’t have a fault with that, but that was absolutely the case. We underestimated the negative impact that could happen, so we took a dip in motivation and with a few injuries mixed in, we did not do the job needed as a coaching staff to deal with it."

The only problem with these quotes is that it never came out of KS mouth, ever. He isn't DC or OC. His own job is HC and he did not find a way to instill the appropriate culture in the locker room. Any decent HC will tell you that discipline is necessary to run a productive team. No discipline, no production. Instead KS was calling out players, calling out the Offense, calling out TD, and publicly ignoring a fundamental underlying cause of the team's failure: KS implemented a culture in the locker room with insufficient accountability. So if KS is still going to be the HC buddy, who is setting the culture for the team? If KS is not calling plays, he's not setting the culture, and he isn't succeeding in recruiting what is he getting paid to do?
