It largely has nothing to do with BYU. Or Utah for that matter, when we're talking about big time in-state kids. It's not something that BYU and Utah are doing wrong. There's just nothing you can do when kids completely blow up and get a taste of the biggest stages. With some of these kids, it doesn't really matter much if you are winning 10 games a season or 6. When you not only have to worry about Pac schools who know where the state of Utah is on the map, now you've got Michigan and MSU and OSU and Bama coming in to poach kids.
And a lot of these kids truly love Sitake. Ika is one of them. But kids are just leaving the state now. I bet we see Nacua and Langi get that itch as well and they go latch on to the biggest worm they see.
