If I remember right a lot of it is based on stats (DAT, GPA) so make sure to check the admission statistics of schools he’s applying to and decide how many schools to apply to based on how he stacks up. That doesn’t mean to not apply to schools that seem like they have higher stats, since hat doesn’t exclude you necessarily, but applying to more schools will never hurt and will be worth it in the long run if it was needed.
