The quality of coaching is on the rise... Pacific, Portland, SF, USD, SCU and LMU have all upgraded coaches. Pepperdine just announced they were letting Marty Wilson go. I guess losing to BYU in OT was the last straw for him :) 

• SF beat SMC and Nevada (and should have won @ BYU)
• USD beat Colorado, New Mexico State and Grand Canyon all on the road. 
• Pacific beat BYU and was competitive in a number of close losses. this team plays HARD
• SCU (Herb Sendek), Portland (Terry Porter), LMU (Mike Dunlap) have new "name" coaches. The programs are spending the money to improve.

In it's 7 years in the conference BYU has lost to every WCC team at least once. I'm not sure if that's an indication that BYU maybe isn't as good as we thought... or the league maybe is better than we thought.
