sorry had to look up that one - a whataboutism. I take its like changing the
subject? or seeking to challenge the hypocrisy of the adversary? A whataboutism might be ineffective, but can't "destroy" an initial argument to the extent that an initial argument had any validity. So your statement is erroneous. Also your use of the word "Destroy" is a little over-the-top. maybe try to use the power of understatement in your arguing sometime. Its quite useful.

But yes by shifting the argument I did essentially concede or withdraw my initial argument about not trusting in federal or state laws. By arguing that it may be worthwhile to make federal or state laws to ban some types of abortions, I am certainly undercutting my initial argument that new federal or state laws for gun control to reduce gun violence would be futile.
