Two problems with your argument.
6th year? He only sat out 1. He’s essentially a redshirt senior. 4 playing seasons over 5 years.

Are you talking about O’Neale? First, he played 2 years in Europe, but more pertinent to the point of my opinion, he played all 4 years of his college eligibility. He exhausted his college options and then went to Europe and then got picked up in the G-league. It’s a different scenario than what I’ve been making. Should Eli use all of his college eligibility and work through Europe and somehow get back to the NBA then great! But, it isn’t the suggested route.

The whole point I’m making is leaving college eligibility on the table by going to Europe thinking it’s a better route. If it was more kids would do it, but that simply isn’t what kids are doing because it’s not the better route.
